FPGA Based Design
UTS, is providing different FPGA based solutions for several industrial applications. Some of the areas in which UTS is offering ready to use solutions are Digital communication, DSP, Industrial automation and software defined radio (SDR). UTS has been offering these solutions on different class of FPGAs to meet the customer requirements. UTS’s Embedded hardware team has designed several Xilinx’s Spantan Family based low cost FPGA boards which are used to prove in house developed IP cores and also to deliver complete solution to our customers.
 
Basics of FPGA based design
Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) arrived in 1984 as an alternative to programmable logic devices (PLDs) and application specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The re-programmability and parallel architectures made them very attractive solutions for several embedded applications. Today there are several applications where FPGAs can provide better solutions than ASICs and conventional microprocessors.
 
FPGA Design Services for Industry
UTS being an IP core developer in several disciplines, it has been involved in design and development of FPGA based applications in several state of the art technologies. We take up FPGA design problems and provide end solutions to our customers. UST can provide solutions in the following phases in FPGA/ASIC based design.
  1. High level architecture design for a defined problem in digital communication, DSP and Industrial automation areas.
  2. VHDL/Verilog HDL synthesizable coding for a defined interface/algorithm
  3. Development of DSP cores with high speed DSP principles on FPGA (DA, RNS, Bit serial arithmetic, digit serial arithmetic)
  4. ASIC prototyping on FPGA(s)
  5. FPGA board design with Xilinx and Altera FPGAs
